William Joseph Cover

William Joseph Cover, 86, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Baltimore, MD passed away at his home September 6th, 2019. Born on March 3rd, 1933 in Remington, MD, was the son of the late John S. Cover and Mary E. (O’Brien) Cover. Loving brother of Sandra L. and her husband Jimmie L. Sowder and the late John F. “Jack” and his wife the late Shirley M. Cover. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley J. Cover (nee Herndon) and three children; Debra Ann, and her husband Raymond, Gary William, and his wife Vicki, and Darin Gregory and his wife Lisa. Grandfather of Keri, Rusty, Lindsey, Courtney, G.W., C.J., Trey, Ryan, Darin Jr. and Colin. Great Grandfather of Ryan, Chloe, Connor, Bradley, Cas, Brydan, Tripp, Nolan, Thomas and Jack.

Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for The Baltimore Gas and Electric Company for over 25 years. After retirement, Bill loved fishing and crabbing the waters of Delaware and Maryland’s eastern shores. He also enjoyed rooting for the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. Bill enjoyed the company of his Bulldogs; Maggie, Jiggs, Bubba and Rosie.

The family would like to thank VITAS Heathcare of Delaware for their loving care and support of Bill during his struggle with Parkinson’s over the past year.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Burgee Henss Seitz Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, where Celebration of Life Services will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 am.

Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
