Bartonville – Carol Lynn McDaniels, 72, of Bartonville, passed away at 5:22 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home. She was born on November 24, 1948 in Peoria, a daughter of Clinton and Barbara (Wolfe) McDaniels. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Barbara; and brother-in-law, Steve Kroll.
Carol is survived by her brother, Clint (Brenda) McDaniels of Leesburg, FL; sister, Debbie Kroll of Bartonville; niece, Michelle Justice of Pekin; two nephews, John McDaniels of Lacey, WA and Thomas (Maria Minson) Murphy of East Peoria; uncle, David (Marilyn) Wolfe of Milford, OH; several great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; and many wonderful friends from Bradley, Monroe School, and her church.
She was a 1970 graduate of Bradley University and taught 5th grade at Monroe Elementary School District 70 for 34 years, retiring in May of 2003. She continued teaching there as a substitute teacher until 2009. She was a dedicated teacher who dearly loved her students and was listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
She attended Faith Missionary Church in Bartonville, where she volunteered with Vacation Bible School, the Kitchen Crew, and Keenagers Senior Program.
Carol’s funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Her visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. also on Monday also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Missionary Church or South Side Mission.
