James R. "Jim" Brooks

Jim was born to Robert and Andulusia (Branscum) Brooks on April 24, 1928.

He married the love of his life Goldie Barr on August 5, 1949 she preceded him in death.

He is survived by three children; Sherryl (Johnny) Hollingsworth, Linda (Rick) Remelius, Dennis (Teri) Brooks, seven grandchildren; Steven (Cari) Hollingsworth, Ricky (Jodi) Remelius, Andy (Alexis) Remelius, Denise (Tim) Sanders, Matt (Monica) Brooks, Joseph Brooks, and Kayleigh Remelius, twelve great grandchildren, and ten siblings.

Jim was preceded in death by his one son Steven Brooks, and two brothers.

Burial will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 11:00am at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to OSF Hospice.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Angie Sierra for her care towards Jim.

James was not only a great family man and friends he was a veteran of the United States Navy and Army
