Kathryn C. Shaffett, born Nov 25, 1948 and longtime resident of Central, Louisiana and member of Zoar Baptist Church, died Jan 12, 2021. Kathy loved being around children and she had many at Zoar that called her “Aunt Kathy.” At one time she was in charge of the supplies for the children’s Sunday school at Zoar. If one wanted supplies, you could have them as long as you followed Kathy’s directions. For her duty and way she handled the supplies, she earned the nickname “Sarge.” One of her favorite pastimes, while living at home, was to sit in the backyard swing, turn on her tape player, sing with her favorite country singers and wave at folks driving by. For the last few years she resided in a nursing home near her sister, Martha Richard, in Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Allen and Roberta Shaffett of Central. She is survived by her sister, Martha Richard and husband Cliff of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and two nephews in Claremore, Oklahoma, Allen Richard and wife Beth, and Scott Richard and wife Susan, as well as six great nephews and nieces. Viewing will be on Monday, Feb 1, 4-6 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East. Services will be graveside at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Tues, Feb 2, 11 AM. Masks and social distancing will be in place.
