
Roberta "Pete" Peterson died Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Clare Manor. She was 87 and a native of Bluefield, W.Va., but spent most of her adult life in Baton Rouge. She worked at various department stores in Baton Rouge and retired from Sears. She was always smiling and made friends easily. She was a longtime member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Claude H. "Pete" Peterson; a brother, James Edmunds; and parents, Charles and Gussie Edmunds. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Saturday was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Merlin Liverman. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, next to her beloved husband and close to her parents. She is survived by three sons and a daughter and their families: Charles Eric Peterson and wife Janet and their son, Chuckie Peterson, James Herbert :"Pete" Peterson and wife Anne and their daughters, Reneé and Jill, Patricia Marie Peterson Volentine and her daughters, Connie and Lisa, and Edmund Reece Peterson and wife Beverly and their daughter, Karyn and son, Todd. She also had nine great-grandchildren. She was well taken care of at St. Clare Manor. God bless all St. Claire employees for making her last years comfortable and happy.
