Ephraem Charles

Ephraem Charles, 75, of Baytown, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 while at MD Anderson Hospital. Her funeral service will be held this Saturday, May 5th at Holy Family Church in Baytown followed by the internment at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Ephraem was born on the 18th of June, 1942 in Trinidad, W.I. to Frank Millien and Georgianna Noreiga. She met and married John S. Charles in 1962, and they later relocated to the U. S. Ephraem graduated from Catholic Women’s Training College for Teachers, and received her teaching diploma in 1966. She had a successful career teaching both in Trinidad and St. Croix, U.S.V.I. After her teaching career she pursued a career in banking in St. Croix.

Ephraem migrated with her family to Baytown, Texas where she was a homemaker. She cherished praising the Lord. She was always supportive and encouraging to her family, as well as, always sacrificing her needs for the best of her family. Most of her friends knew her as “Prim”. Ephraem had a love for music, playing Bingo, and cooking. She enjoyed coming up with different healthy meal ideas. Ephraem was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Baytown where she was a member of the Alter Society and the Daily Mass Crew.

Our Mother had every right to cry and fall into depression after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, but she chose instead to live every moment she was given to the fullest with faith until God took her home.

Ephraem Charles is preceded in death by her husband John S. Charles, parents Frank Millien and Georgianna Noreiga, sons Kevin and Sherman Charles, daughters Ann and Angela Charles. She is survived by sons Francis (Carol) Charles, and John Jr. (Wendy) Charles, three grandchildren Cecily, Jovan, and Breonna, and siblings Janet, Fina, Jean, Linda, Adelle, Randolph and Horace.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5:00-8:00PM in the chapel of Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, and Rosary will begin at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7122 Whiting Rock Street, Baytown, Texas 77521. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 5-8pm with a rosary to be held at 7pm at the Earthman Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 10am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7122 Whiting Rock, Baytown, TX 77521.
