

Rex was born to Rex and Jessie Maude on September 28, 1948, in Pontiac, Michigan. At the time of his passing, he and his wife Kathy lived in Madison Heights, Michigan.
He graduated from Madison High School in 1966 and received a computer science degree from Oakland Community College in 1968. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 as a radio relay and carrier attendant in the 588th Signal Company. He received a degree in auto mechanics in 1972.
He was a crew foreman/fabricator/welder until he retired from Carlson Metals in 2014. Rex enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing, scuba diving, boating, and especially motorcycling. His Goldwing was his passion. It brought him a sense of adventure, freedom, and a chance to experience the country with his many biking friends. His family and friends remember him as a very kind and knowledgeable man.
Rex is survived by his wife, Kathy; his son, Adam (Marie); step-daughter, Stephanie; 2 grandsons; and 3 step-grandsons.
Rex will receive full military honors with a small service in the spring, date and time to be determined, at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to: Vietnam Veterans of America, Michigan State Council, 477 Michigan Ave., 12th Floor, Room 1231, Detroit, MI 48226-2518.
