

Steven Elek III passed away on July 5, 2020 at the age of 64. Steve is survived by Katharine, his loving wife; by Steven Elek IV (Kate) and Peter C. Elek (Tonya), his sons with his first wife Jilian (deceased); by Jillian’s daughter Melissa; and by his father Steven. He is also survived by his grandchildren Madeline, Boone and Augustus and by his siblings Cynthia (Mayer), Mark, Gary, Stephanie (Crowley), Kevin and Eric. Steve leaves a large hole in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Steve was born in 1956 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Cecilia Blasinsky Elek and Steve Elek. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Robert Morris College in 1977 and graduated Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Dayton Law School in 1979.
Steve was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he led the Global Health Care Deals Practice until he retired in June 2016. In addition to the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations and the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of CPAs, his professional memberships included the Association for Corporate Growth where he was a past Chairman and President of the Philadelphia Chapter. Past board memberships include HealthRight International, a global health and human rights organization.
Steve was a member of Waynesborough Country Club where enjoyed golf and excelled at trap shooting. After retiring Steve spent his summers in Lake Tahoe, Nevada where he was on the boards of the Tahoe Yacht Club and the Incline Village Golf Club and also supported philanthropic organizations including The Thunderbird Foundation and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. Above all else Steve will be remembered for his devotion to family, friends and community.
Due to current circumstances related to COVID-19, a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
