Zoilo Maldonado

Zoilo “Genaro” Maldonado 89, formerly of Newark, NJ passed away at BID Hospital in Plymouth, MA on January 20, 2022. He was born to the late Zoilo and Delores Maldonado
(Santos) in Puerto Rico on September 15, 1932. He was preceded in death by his loving wife
Maria “Florin” Maldonado (Rivera).
Genaro grew up in Puerto Rico and later relocated to N.J as a young man where he met and married the love of his life Florin. They were married for 43 years and their union produced 5 children. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He worked at the AM Varityper Corp. in Livingston NJ for 25 years until his retirement. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. He was affectionately called “Papi” in his later years by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his 5 children: Luz Maldonado of Statesville, NC, Daisy Wilson (David Wilson) of Bourne MA, Edward Maldonado of Fort Worth, TX, Wilfredo Maldonado (Amarylis Maldonado) of Atlanta, GA, & Carlos Maldonado (Shalonda Maldonado) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by his brothers Eduardo, and Pepe, and a sister Emma, his grandchildren, and a host of nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday January 31, 2022 11am, at St. Columba's Church, 25 Thomas St. Newark, NJ 07114. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery; 792 E. Linden Ave. Linden, NJ at 12:45pm.
