Maria Eva Garza

Maria Eva Garza, 87, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 1, 2017 in Brownsville, Texas. She married her one and only love Gilberto Garza on February 21, 1950. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and sibling. She enjoyed teaching her children great cooking skills, sewing, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed eating out and shopping at her favorite stores. She loved watching soap operas and spending time with her dog Tebow who will miss her tremendously. She enjoyed eating banana nut ice cream which had to be served in a cone. She was always available and willing to listen and give advice when ever asked. She was a strong and humble woman, whom we all would like to emulate. She was a great example to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Diego Treviño Ramirez and Herlinda Longoria Vda. de Treviño, her daughter Maria Elena (Lauriano) Rodriguez and her son Rene Garza. Left to cherish her memories is her children Hortencia (Oscar) Gonzales, Juan Antonio (Pearl) Garza, Rosalinda (Michael) Bullard, Blanca Garza, Sylvia Garza, Maria Rita (Ralph) Robles, Gilberto (Becky) Garza, Cesar (Ana) Garza, Leticia (Tony) Buitureira. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers: Little Oscar Gonzales Jr., Luis Rodriguez, Juanito Garza, Georgie Dominguez, Gilly Espinoza, Chuckie Cienfuegos, Ricky Masso, Omar Al-Mefleh, Michael Garza, Anthony Buitureira. Honorary Pallbearers Barnie Teran, Veronica Rodriguez, Laura Rodriguez, Erica Gonzales, Josie Patiño, Martha Angelica Olivarez, Jessica Todd, Norma Eliza Rodriguez, Christina Meikrantz, Terri Garza.

Visitation will be on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 10am to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Mass on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe followed by Burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
