Esther Kit Ying RIPLEY

27 June, 19416 January, 2021

Esther Kit-Ying Ripley was born on June 27, 1941 in Hong Kong, and passed away on January 6, 2021 in Burnaby, BC. She is survived by her son (Roch), daughter-in-law (Ellen), grandchildren (Adelaide and Annaliese), brother (Timothy), and sister (Margaret). She is pre-deceased by her husband (Albert), sister (Katherine), and brother (Felix).

Esther emigrated from Hong Kong in the early 1970s to Vancouver, where she met Albert. She would work for over twenty years as a waitress before eventually retiring. During her retirement, she lived in the home she had worked so hard to purchase and enjoyed the company of her family (particularly her grandchildren), friends, and two cats (Daisy and Jerry). (The cats are fine.)

Esther was a devoted Christian, and a loving and caring mom, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burnaby Alliance Church (https://www.bacfamily.org).

Esther ....
We knew each other for over 40 years.
She was a hardworking, self-motivated person. She was family oriented and very caring to everyone in the family. A good wife, a great mother and a very honest friend.
Whenever setbacks came my way, I would think of her for strength. Her courage and persistence set a good example throughout my motherhood.
Esther, you will always be on my mind and forever in my heart.
