Willman Louie passed away on October 6, 2018 after a brief illness, just 2 days from his 98th birthday. He was born in Toyshan, China. He is survived by his wife Sue, his sister Linda Wong, his children James (Dorothy), Betty (David), and Donald (Joanne). He was predeceased by his first wife Yulan, his daughter Jane, and his son Stephen. He had 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He obtained his law degree from University of Canton, China in 1944. Due to WWII and the advent of communism in China, he was not allowed to practice law. Instead, he became a successful businessman in Hong Kong in manufacturing and exporting to USA and Europe.
He was the ultimate scholar in both Chinese and English. He learned to write proper English after only 4 months of night school taught by off-duty British soldiers stationed in Hong Kong. He and his family immigrated to Canada in 1967.
He has lived his life with purpose and principle. He had courage and determination in all his endeavours. He embraced fairness and honesty in all his business activities. He had unconditional love for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home
