I am so pleased to have met Bernadette at the Camirand reunion Catherine Clark and I planned at Sportsman Lodge August 16 to 18th, 2002 - attended by 111 generation descendants.
At the event Bernadette showed me the treasure she wore constantly around her neck which belonged to our Grandmother Lumina Camirand born Levasseur. It was so wonderful to touch something worn by my paternal Grandmother whom I had never met. I was born in Blind River in 1940 daughter of Dollard Camirand and Bertha Wilson. It was very important for me to know my Father's family, my Deda died when I was 14 but had been hospitalized since I was 8. I researched the genealogy and once complete the reunion was planned. This is how I connected back to the Camirand family. It warmed my heart and still does.
My condolences and prayers to all the families.
