Joe was a loving, good-hearted, and generous soul who was always striving to be helpful to those around him. He loved spending time with his family and wanted only the best for them. In his free time, Joe had many hobbies such as wood-working, fishing, camping, and ice skating with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his wife Mary Couckuyt (nee Lynk). His memory will be cherished forever by his children Joey (Michelle) Couckuyt, Cherie (Victor) Leblanc, Chris Boland, Judy (Paul) Riley, and Terri Zeigler. He was sadly predeceased by his daughter Cathy Burrell and sister Diane Couckuyt. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Carl Couckuyt, Rob Couckuyt, Shawn Couckuyt, and Patrick Dunn, 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) on Thursday, March 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. A reception will be held at the Preston Legion Branch 126 (334 Westminster Dr. Cambridge) following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Wellington.
