Beloved wife of Isaac Gordezky, loving daughter of Mike McGarrity, and irreplaceable to sister Sarah Uppal (Neil).

Remembered by her mother Christianne McGarrity, and all of her extended family. Special Auntie to a multitude of nieces and nephews. Dog-mom to Raven. Amazing friend to all who knew her.

Katie was authentic, dynamic, spontaneous and generous with her love. Her presence shone bright and her laughter was contagious. She had the ability to connect with anyone and everyone. She was as sweet as her baked goods. She will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved her.

The visitation and farewell ceremony will take place at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge) Saturday, January 12th from 2 – 4 pm, service beginning at 4pm. Flowers or donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.

Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

I’m so pleased I got to meet Katie as an adult. She was so sweet, funny and we had such a lovely evening when she came to visit us in London. Reading the messages it’s clear how loved she was.

Condolences to the McGarrity family and extended family. We remember Katie's sense of humor and her laughter. Our daughter and her enjoyed birthday parties together in our house and playing in our yard when children. She was a nice friend for our only child. Even though we lost touch with her except through her father..it was like it was yesterday (having her come over to visit us.) RIP dear Kathleen.

Some of our fondest memories of Katie are when our son would bring his best friends Katie and Isaac to our home on the St. Lawrence River for a weekend getaway, "camping". Katie always was so happy to come and spend time with us.
We will miss you Katie and all the special funny times we had together will be cherished.
Our thought and prayers are with you Isaac such a loving partner to Katie and of course her favorite "Raven"
Our deepest sympathy to her sister Sarah who Katie loved so deeply.
Kathleen's parents we are so sorry for your loss.

I met katie when she first came to our department in Rogers, I was one of her trainers. She always had a smile on her face and would rally the team together with interesting social events. Everyone enjoyed being around her and sharing stories. She will be missed.

Katie was my best friend, from kindergarden to high school we did almost everything together. we lost touch over the last 10 yrs or so due to life, but Katie was and always has been in my heart as my sister. She was the funniest and most caring friend, I miss spending countless hours on the phone. She will be missed so very much.

I only knew Katie for a short time, we were co-workers. She was instantly likeable and she made me smile everytime I was around her. I was diagnosed with Melanoma and left work to start treatment. Even though Katie and I only knew each other for a short time, she went out of her way to make personalized, beautiful cupcakes to sell at a bake sale to raise money for my cancer walk. She even made them in my favorite colour (she actually messaged me to find out my favorite colour) with cut out black cancer ribbons made of fondant to represent melanoma, they were incredible. She couldn't just make something basic, she was so fabulous. She was such an amazing person, beautiful, smart, funny, kind and generous. She truly cared for people and I was so lucky to know her.
