Mitchell Lee White

Mr. White was born November 10, 1945 in Polk County, the son of Charles Brinkley and Mildred White. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served in Vietnam, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a Georgia Bull Dog Fan, a Rome Braves Fan, was employed at Shaw Industries and was a member of Raccoon Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marshall Chafin, a sister, Debra Chafin and his grandparents, Elsie and Howard White.

Surviving is his wife, Donna Brock White of Taylorsville, two sons, Bobby Lee White of Taylorsville, Mitchell (Red) White of Aragon, granddaughter, Kristyn Byrd of Cartersville, his best friend, Hunter Fields of Taylorsville, three brothers, Gary White of Danville, Georgia, Wayne White of Aragon, Michael Chafin of Calhoun, two sisters, Sharon Chafin of Rome, Stephanie Dowdy of Lindale and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Raccoon Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Boatfield and Rev. James Black officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Garrett Steven Black Scholarship Fund, Cartersville Foundation, Atten: Lisa Bell, P.O. Box 3310, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.

Pallbearers will be Eric Black, Danny West, Gary Sanford, Ronnie Poston, Randy Brock and Mike Byrd.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Hamilton, Louie Brock, Hunter Fields, Steve Brown and Chad Cox.
