OBITUARY
Bertha Van Oort
30 December, 1935 – 21 July, 2021

It has pleased the Lord to take from our side our dearly beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother, sister and aunt, Bertha (Bep) Van Oort (nee Guliker).
Born on December 30, 1935 in Nijkerk, the Netherlands, she immigrated in 1953 from the Netherlands to Agassiz, BC with her family and passed away at the age of 85 in Chilliwack, B.C.
Bertha was predeceased by her brother Evert Guliker in 2004 and by her sister Niesje Klop (Guliker) on May 1, 2021.
She is survived by her husband Christiaan (Chris) Van Oort; children Tony and Lineke Van Oort (Willems), Ed and Joanne Van Oort (Bisschop), Leonard and Theresa Van Oort (McKelvie), Robert and Catharine Van Oort (Neels) and Monica and Jaco Boot (Van Oort); three sisters Marianne and Emil Zagar (Guliker), Evelyn and Harry Barten (Guliker), Reina Van Lagen (Guliker) and Erica Guliker and one brother, Tony and Willie Guliker (Kerkhoff) and by 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Quentin Smith, Cathy Vrieselaar and the staff at Sunset Manor Assisted Living for their love and excellent care of mom in the past 6 ½ years. Also thank you for RCNA Home Care for providing respite for Dad. It is much appreciated!
Funeral service for our mother will be held July 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reformed Congregation in North America, Gibson Rd, Chilliwack, B.C. Interment to follow at Chilliwack Cemeteries, Chilliwack, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mount Cheam Christian School, in Chilliwack.
