Mr. Earnest Bare, age 87 of China Grove, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his home. Earnest was born March 17, 1933 in Beckley, West Virginia and was the son of the late Eugene Bare and Pearl Girtman Bare. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Iva Jean Stringer Bare, his brother, Carl Bare and his sister, Ruby Bare Jones.
Earnest proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean War. After his service, he spent his career as owner-operator of Bare Brothers Wholesale Co. Earnest was a workaholic. He also enjoyed going to Bare family reunions and traveling to Ashe County to visit relatives.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tom Bare and Hal Bare. He also leaves behind his brothers, Bob Bare and Paul Bare, along with many other extended family members.
Graveside Service with Military Honors for Earnest will be Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00pm at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, officiated by Rev. Mitchell Carlyle.
