J. B. Frith, age 77, of Clayton North Carolina, departed this life on Sunday, October 2, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 21, 1945, to Sadie (Seals) Frith and John D. Frith.
J.B was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a hospital administrator who worked at the University of Alabama while obtaining his Master's in Healthcare Administration. He furthered his career by becoming the Chief Executive Officer for the University of Mississippi, Portsmouth General, and Metro Health Center. During his last stent in healthcare, he became the Vice President for Quorum Health, overseeing twelve community hospitals in Florida. After retiring, he could not stay still and worked at the Bluff Park Hardware Store, where he continued to enjoy serving people.
J.B. loved being a father and a great one at that. One of his favorite past times was reading. In addition, he enjoyed woodworking and assisting Lynn in the yard. He told the neighbors, "I just dig the holes."
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lynn Marie (Molley), a daughter, Jennifer Frith, a son Jason Frith and four siblings, John Wayne Frith, Florence Frith Hall (Robert), Linda English (husband, Larry), and Pamela Frith, and two granddaughters Alaina Malee and Caelyn Brianne Renae Frith.
