

Leo Giacomino Rossi, husband of the late Jeannette Rosanna (Daigneault) Rossi passed on July 11, 2017, at 92 years of natural causes. He is survived by his five daughters, Christine Rossi, Deborah Anctil, Donna Rossi Barth, Denise Rossi and Cynthia Meglio; his four grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Marc and Christiana; and his three great grandchildren, Penelope,Sofia and Britton. His final wish is that his ashes join his wife's at the Bay Pines VA Cemetery here in Florida in a private military service. For further information please go to the National Cremation website. Born in the Compania region of Italy near Naples, to Giacomo and Teresa (Savastano) Rossi on December 16, 1924, the youngest surviving child of five children. Upon coming to America the family settled in the Eagle Park area of Providence,RI. Leo served in WWII in the 702 nd Red Devil's Tank Battalion as a tank (T3) driver; and carbine sharpshooter, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. When discharged, he kept in the military vein and began a 27 year career as a master aviation metalsmith, plexiglass and fiberglass expert at Quonset Point NAS, RI; and later at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT. His proudest contribution there being his work on the nuclear submarine the USS Sea Wolf. He fully retired to Largo , Florida in 1995 with his wife, enjoying the company of his family until his recent passing. Please contact family members regarding the Celebration of his Life.
