It is with great sadness that the family of Maria announces her passing after a valiant battle with cancer, on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Born in Brazil, June 22, 1941 Maria moved to New York City at age 22 to continue her career in ballet. After falling in love with her adopted country and Victor, Maria went on to enjoy an extended time in NYC but retired to the Clearwater area in 2004 with her husband Victor. Maria leaves behind her loving husband, Victor, daughter Emese Camanelli, grandsons, Michael, Matthew, Christopher and great-grandson Michael, step-children, Vicki and Christopher Giroffi, and siblings.
She lived life to the fullest with very active and leadership positions in Windlasses, Cercle Francais, Salability of Greater Tampa Bay, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 407 S. Saturn Ave. Clearwater, FL 33755. Memorial gifts maybe made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Suncoast Hospice, 2675 Tampa Rd., Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
