

Thomas James Hart, 77, of Clearwater, FL passed away on Thursday 10/01/15 in Tallahassee. Born in Evanston, IL, moved to Clearwater in 1983 from Walnut Creek, CA and lived the past 14 months in Tallahassee with his daughter Cindy (Hart) Lavoie and family. Survivors: Two sons Thomas James Hart Jr. (Jean) and James Joseph Hart (Michelle). Three daughters Cynthia Anne Lavoie (Paul), Mary Elizabeth Mochilar (Bob) and Heidi Suzanne Pukas (John). Sister Margaret Mary Kaminer. Twelve grandchildren, Bob Gaff, Tommy Hart, Tim Hart, Katie Hart, Haley Hart, Emily Hart, Matthew Hart, Joe Lavoie, Allison Lavoie, Blake Mochilar, Zoey Pukas and Ethan Pukas. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years Sharon Elaine (Dell) Hart, father Thomas Joseph Hart and mother Betty Hogan Hart. Member of Espirtu Santo Catholic Church. Graduate of University of Illinois. Army veteran. Successful 42 year career across the U.S. in the consumer packaged goods industry, finishing in Tampa as the owner of a Food Brokerage. Volunteered his time as a religious education teacher to Confirmation students and usher at St. Michael’s Church in Clearwater. Supporter of many Catholic organizations. A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. A true gentleman to everyone. Tom enjoyed raising Labrador Retrievers, growing roses, barbecuing, model railroads and WWII history. Visitation is Wednesday October 7 from 5 – 7pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Espirtu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor at 2pm on Thursday October 8. Interment will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial park.
