Tommy Joe Jones, 81, of Denton NC passed away April 11, 2019. Tom was born Feb 12, 1938 in Eden, NC to the late Elvin and Ruby Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David A Jones, and son Donald Lee Shelton. Tom is survived by his wife Doris B Jones, 4 sons - Craig Jones (Sharon), Brett Jones, Scott Jones (Jennifer), Derek Jones (Aby), 2 daughters - Ann Burnett (Joe), Dawn Hernandez (Eddie), 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Tom retired from RJR Tobacco Co. May 1, 1991 after 35 years of service. He was a faithful member of Heaven’s Gate Full Gospel Church in Lexington, NC.
A funeral service will be held Saturday April 13, 2019 at 2:00pm at Frank Vogler and Sons in Clemmons, NC. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown NC.
