James Earl Aplin

James Earl Aplin, age 75, resident of Columbus, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Friday, July 22, 2011, 3 p.m. with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Aplin, son of the late Albert Lee Aplin and Carrie Vann Money Aplin, was born October 27, 1935 in Henry County, AL. He was retired from Southern Mills where he faithfully served for over 20 years. Mr. Aplin was the Past Grand Master, Rose Hill Masonic Lodge #484 (32nd degree) and also had served as Past President, Columbus-Fort Benning Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife, Linda Aplin of Columbus; one daughter, Brenda Crain and her husband Leonard of Columbus; one granddaughter, Audria Crain of Columbus; three step-daughters, Chris McCullough and her husband Richard of Griffin, GA, Tina Gann and her husband Fred of Grantville, GA, and Susan Edwards and her husband Ricky of Pike County, AL; other relatives and friends.
