You were and always be my favorite person! I love you and Happy Anniversary to you and poppy in heaven! 

I remember a trip my father and I made to Columbus to visit Aunt Martha and Uncle Gaston. She made us such a great feast.  Fried Chicken, Cabbage and Freshly Shelled Peas.  The best meal I have ever had.  This was the first time I met Aunt Martha and we shared so much laughter, she loved to tell her stories.  She was great raconteur, had the best stories and she was too funny!  She had a very big heart and really made me feel happy during that visit. I remember the laughter we shared that night with my Dad and Aunt Martha.  I remember we were so full from the meal all we could do was sit back and talk.  I was very lucky to have met Aunt Martha several times, but the first time we met there was a true bond created.  I am thankful we spent this time with Aunt Martha and will always remember the sound of her laugh, the smell of the kitchen and the way she treated me when I was in Columbus.

Martha was a second mother to her siblings.  She was our mother's sergeant-in-charge and was such a big help to her mother, father and our family.  She was a very hard worker, a great cook, and a great singer....she sang while she worked.  She had to grow up fast as a child through some tough times and developed a strong work ethic; she never stopped working until the job was done.  She and Gaston were married in our house on Rappahannock Street in Lockhart, AL; I still think it was the most beautiful marriage ceremony I have ever seen.  They were so happy then and are now reunited.  She was funny, always making us laugh and loved each of us immensely.  She is sorely missed.

Shelia and Sherry, I can only imagine what you are going through.  We know she's up there with dad now and Jeff.  She was a great mother-in-law to me and I always loved her.  God Bless you all.
