Carolyn is survived by her husband Jim of 54 years, children, Mike of New London, NH and LeighAnn and husband Sean Bauer of Dover, NH. Carolyn was a proud Grammie to Ryan Burney, 25; Drew Burney,20; Aidan Bauer, 15; and Hannah Bauer, 13.
Carolyn was born on October 5, 1943 in Berlin, NH to Winston “Monk” Hart and Winnifred Hart. She moved to Concord where she graduated from Concord High School in 1961. Carolyn met Jim after high school during her time as an employee of Concord Electric. According to Jim, they met through a mutual friend at a dance, and that’s where it all began. They married at the West Congregational Church on May 2nd, 1964.
They spent many years in Jim’s childhood home on Charles Street where they raised their two children. Carolyn’s children will always remember her as a kind, supportive Mom who gave them the gift of laughter and appreciation for the people around them. She guided them to pursue their dreams and to enjoy many friendships throughout their lives.
Carolyn spent some time as a stay-at-home mom when her children were little and then pursued her own goal of getting her Bachelor’s Degree from UNH. Carolyn worked in accounting for the State of NH and the City of Concord, and later as a Benefits Coordinator for Child and Family Services. She was also a Notary and a Justice of the Peace. She enjoyed performing ceremonies for friends and family. Carolyn enjoyed sewing and knitting. She made many of her own clothes, and created handmade dresses for her daughter for special occasions.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St. Concord, NH from 10AM to 1PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carolyn's life.
