Mark was a good man with a bold spirit and a kind heart. I loved that he brought a briefcase to school every day and spoke to us students as equals or “spring chickens” eager to get a crack at the trade. He was very encouraging when I told him I wanted to go at it on my own and even called me “slugger” when he saw what I’d been up to. I miss him dearly, and my heart goes out to the family. A true class act that’s left us too soon but is not soon forgotten.

While working with Mark, I admired his role up the sleeves and git'er done dedication, while maintaining a calm quiet demeanor amidst a less than somewhat peaceful passive environment. Just two things I learned from Mark and try to practice myself. Mark was also a good example in humbleness. Any skilled tradesman, willing to pass on a life time of acquired skills to a younger generation requires fine qualities. Please take comfort in knowing Mark left a lasting impression on many of us here. My sincere condolences.
