CHARLES RAY MCENTIRE, JR. was born on October 3, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Charles, Sr. and Edna F. McEntire. He passed away on June 9, 2020, in Corpus Christi, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan. Mr. McEntire graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in Portland, Texas in 1968. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1980 from Corpus Christi State University, Corpus Christi, Texas. Charley served our country in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1985, both active duty and reserve. He was a long-time member of the Texas Association of Sports Officials refereeing local middle-school and varsity football games. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Bethany; son, David; sister-in-law, Janice; three nieces, one nephew, five great-nephews; two great-nieces, and numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Visitation Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial to follow at the Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery, 9974 IH37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78410 at 2 p.m.
