Josephine Gebarra Acuna

Josie, as she liked to be called, was born in Raymondville, Texas on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1938. She married the love of her life, Ruben Martinez Acuna in 1962 and lived happily ever after. Josie worked for National Linen & Uniform Service for many years, where she prepared operating room supplies for local hospitals.

She had a passion for Dancing, Music, Cooking, Ceramics, Bowling, Softball, Gambling, Traveling and her pet Chihuahuas.

Josie is preceded in death by her Grandfather/Father Jose Lopez and Grandmother, Maria Lopez, her Mother, Teresa Cruz-Cisneros and Stepfather, Pedro Cisneros and sister Delia Rojas.

She is survived by her husband, Ruben M. Acuna, three daughters, Rosalinda (Tony) Hernandez, Graciela (Paul Morales) Acuna-Morales and Ruby Acuna and younger brother Jose (Gloria) Olivarez. Josie is also survived by14 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, 9 Great Great-Grandchildren, 5 Grand dogs & 1 Bird

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Services will conclude in the Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at LG Event Center, 5230 Kostoryz Rd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 at 5:00 p.m.
