She graduated from Ridgefield High School and went on to marry the late Frank J. DeKany Jr. on May 25th 1957. They had one daughter who they brought into this world, Shirley A. Atherton, on January 18th, 1959 and raised with great love and care. Patricia lived the majority of her years in Danbury,CT where she worked at Danbury Radiology and then retired. She loved her casino trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, but most of all she took great joy in spending her time watching her grandchildren and friend's children throughout her years and lived to instill great values into their developing, curious minds. Patricia was a true nurturer and always, when walking into her home, greeted loved ones with the line, “Did you eat yet?” And even with the response of, “No, thank you” it was followed with, “Well let me make you something!” Always making sure those around her felt her love and embrace.
She is survived by her brother-in-law Steven, son-in-law Robert, 3 grandchildren; Joseph, Deni-Marie, and Tara-Rose and great grandchild Logan. There will be a graveside service at 10:00am on Friday, June 8th 2018 at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave, Danbury CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patricia's name to The Danbury Animal Welfare Society located on 147 Grassy Plain St., Bethel, CT 06801.
