It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah K. MacLennan, 100, announces her peaceful passing at the Arborstone Enhanced Care, Halifax, on Friday Dec. 21, 2018. She grew up in Cape North, lived in Coxheath, C.B., in Berwick, N.S,. and Moncton, N.B, before moving to Halifax to Tower Road, and to Dartmouth, on Lyngby Ave, and on Brookdale Crescent at the Souriquois. Sarah enjoyed an active and productive life. Hers was a loving and vibrant family and she loved all of them. She raised two daughters and worked with her husband, owning and operating the Yarn Barn, in Scotia Square. Her skills as a seamstress, crocheter, and knitter of woollen garments was renowned and she much enjoyed sharing her knowledge. As a true believer Sarah was an active member of St. David’s Presbyterian Church and was inspirational to all who knew her. We are saddened at her passing but are thankful that her end was peaceful and that now she can rest and join Alex and family up above. In celebration of her life, a memorial service will be held Saturday January 12, from 1-2 PM, with Reverend Iona MacLean officiating, at St. David’s Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery at a later spring date.
