Angelo attended Carnegie High School (class of 1955), graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in 1959, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for over 36 years as a sales executive, retiring from S.C. Johnson in 1997. Angelo and LaVerne lived and made friends in many areas of the country, including Pittsburgh, PA, Hudson, OH, Racine, WI, Ellicott City, MD, Aiken, SC, and most recently Dayton.
Angelo loved his family and friends, church, charity work, and golf. He was known and loved for his excellent story-telling and sense of humor, deep and infectious laugh, power to inspire, optimistic spirit, and fierce determination. He often laughed until tears rolled down his cheeks. He was giving in so many ways, especially with love. He advised his children to dream big and work hard, and reminded them in hard times that “this too shall pass.” Angelo will be remembered for irreverent jokes and tall tales (especially his “suit” presentation); his passion for uplifting and motivational speakers (Zig Ziglar on long car drives); bragging about his children; love of ice cream; deep faith in God; and abiding and unceasing loyalty to his wife. He will be dearly missed.
A private mass and burial is planned for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to The American Lung Association or The Alzheimer’s Association - or take a loved one out to dinner to talk about your memories of Angelo.
