Regina Creager was born in Fort Towson, Oklahoma to a family of sharecroppers on September 6, 1918. Whenever she wasn’t walking the two miles each way to and from school, or climbing trees and playing with her dolls, Regina was helping out in the cotton fields and around the house. Regina credited her upbringing for teaching her the values of hard work, and of family love. When she got older, she worked at a meat packing plant and as a waitress.
She met her husband of nearly 50 years, Conrad, while working as a waitress. He in the military. She moved to several states while he was in the Air Force, and was able to travel to England, Italy and Mexico. They had one child, Roy Creager, who currently resides in Katy, Texas.
Primarily a homemaker after her son was born, Regina kept busy cooking wonderful meals, attending church activities, playing dominos (she seldom lost), listening to talk radio (especially Paul Harvey), and helping raise money for various charities.
Five years ago, Regina moved to Katy, Texas from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law Connie and her two grandchildren, Megan (18) and Daniel (12), whom she loved dearly.
Regina was a very strong, independent, and determined woman who loved deeply and fully supported the endeavors of her family. Her recent advice to others was to follow the Lord and let Him be their guide, with Romans 10:13 being one of her favorite verses: “For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” She encouraged others to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and experience His forgiveness. Because she did this, she starting spending eternity in heaven with her Savior when she departed this earth on March 30, 2016.
Regina is survived by her son and his family in Katy, Texas and her wonderful younger sister Reba Gibson of Oklahoma City, who helped care for her over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Lee Gibson and Mabel Anderson Gibson, husband Conrad Creager and her first grandchild Madison Lynn Creager.
Arrangements under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Del City, Oklahoma.
