Born Ann Elizabeth Stroud on August 22, 1939 in Port Huron, MI to Lemuel G. Stroud and Olive Elizabeth Bradley. She lived in Lake Charles, LA and moved to Whittier, CA at the age of 10 with her mother and step-father Marvin S. Ford.
She married W.E.(Bill) Taylor on November 1, 1957. They had 4 children; Jeff, Lee, Lisa and Debi. Bill retired from the US Navy after 20 years and they settled in his hometown of Denison in 1973. As an accomplished seamstress she worked part-time doing alterations for Brabants Cleaners in downtown Denison.
Bill passed away September 3, 1975 and Ann obtained her real estate license and worked for Sandra Thomas Real Estate. She was hired in 1981 to manage the Denison office of the MKT Railroad Employees Credit Union as well as working part-time in administration at the Katy Hospital. She held that position for 11 years until the office was closed. She went to work as the manager of the Denison City Employees Credit Union in 1992. She retired in 2007 after 15 years when they merged with Texoma Educators FCU.
She went home to be with the Lord on May 27th following an extended battle with COPD.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Taylor; two daughters, Lisa G. Galloway and husband Jackie L. Galloway Jr. and Deborah D. Foster; 8 grand children; and 14 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her son Tracy Lee Taylor; and great-grandson Liam Nathanial Mercier.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 30, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas.
Services will be held at Bratcher Funeral Home at 10am Thursday, May 31st followed by graveside service at Cedarlawn Memorial Cemetery in Sherman with Dr. Craig Canton officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Foster, Paul Galloway, Matt Foster, John Galvan, Clyde Mercier and Jake Taylor.
