

Dr. Doll passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020, after a prolonged illness.
She was born September 19, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James and Frances (Bader) O’Connor, the third daughter of three, (Patricia and Katherine). She attended grade school, Bishop Kelly High School, received her bachelor and master degrees in education from Oklahoma State University and her PhD in Curriculum Design from St. Louis University.
She will be remembered for her service as an educator. She taught in St. Louis Missouri and in 1983 followed her husband, Larry to Colorado. At that time she became the beloved principal of Bear Creek K-8 in Jefferson County Colorado. Dr. Doll’s vision and leadership transformed Bear Creek Elementary from a struggling school to one that was consistently one of the top performing schools in Colorado. Dr. Doll believed that each and every child deserved to be given the highest quality education possible. In her honor, parents established the Dr. Margaret Doll Award for Excellence, which is presented to an eighth grade student at Continuation each year. Dr. Doll’s vision continued to inspire The Bear Creek community after her retirement in June of 2004. In October of 2008, the school library was dedicated in her honor and officially named the Dr. Molly Doll Library. Her family, friends, and all the children she mentored over the years, will sorely miss her.
Molly will be interred next to her parents in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Joint services for Molly and her Aunt Mary Lois O’Connor will include a Rosary prayed at Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel, 1402 South Boulder Ave., Tulsa, OK 74119 on Monday May 18th at 7pm. Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1520 South Rockford, Tulsa, OK 74120 at 10 am. Interment will be private.
