Alice Theresa Doucette, 94 of Gilbert's Cove, daughter of the late Samuel and Kazira Comeau, passed away peacefully at Tideview Terrace on May 5th. She was the last surviving member of her family. Beyond her family, her joys and passion included baking, quilting and crochet. She worked as a cook at the Admiral Digby Inn and provided muffins for the tearoom at the Gilbert's Cove lighthouse for many years. She was also very involved in her church.

She was always willing to volunteer, whether it be selling tickets for the church fundraisers or making quilts, baby sweaters, booties and caps for the IWK. She was also very generous with her rappie pie, homemade rolls and apple pies. She leaves to mourn, her daughter, Mary Ann (Gary), Ashmore, sons, Eugene (Joyce), Keswick, ON and Carl (Simone) Church Point. Her grandchildren, Bruce, Jeff, Tina, Scott, Joe, Meghan, Daniel and Denis. Great-grandchildren, Corey, Patrick, Gary, Annaliese, Alexis, David, Emma, Jessica, Tina, Tori, Breauna and William along with many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, David, son Billy, and daughter-in-law Bonnie, brothers, Irvin, Henry, Archie, and Dennis, sisters, Beatrice, Marian and Lena. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Tideview Terrace.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne's Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service for immediate family with a funeral mass at a later date.

Donations in her memory can be made to Holy Cross Cemetery fund, Gilbert's Cove Lighthouse or a charity of choice. Share a memory or leave a condolence at www.jaynesweymouth.com

Blessed with many vivid, happy memories of the warmth, delicious aromas of that kitchen and welcoming home. Remember baking my first cake (from a children's cake mix ) in that oven and dropping it on the floor, taking it out of the oven. Horror turned into laughter at the chocolate pancake. Though far in miles you are always close in thoughts.
Sending caring thoughts and prayers.

Sincere condolences to Eugene, Maryann and Carl and families on the loss of your Mother. I remember eating her peanut butter squares. And when Cyril and I would go home for the lighthouse picnic and we would go to get some rapure for Mom and Dad to bring to them, Mom would always say to make sure and get Alice's rapure.
Know that she is in a much better place.
