Doris D. Bastin

BASTIN, Doris D. Age 86, of Fairborn, passed away July 31, 2018. She was born on March 18th, 1932 in Hart County, Kentucky to the late Allie and Nannie Yates Frazier. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by four siblings Laurence Frazier, Laura Reynolds Morgan, Aline Branstetter and Jimmy Frazier. Bob, her loving husband of 67 years died on April 19th of this year. Doris is survived by her daughters Deborah Snavely (Daniel) and Terri Nixon (Michael). She also leaves six granddaughters Katie, Ashley, Marrisa, Michaela, Kelsey and Laura as well as eight great-grandchildren. Doris dedicated her life to her most important jobs of wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her daughters, grand-daughters and great-grandchildren ferociously, always demanding their best and never failing to set a good example. She and Bob spent many happy hours attending their school events, ballgames and concerts providing just the right amount of support and encouragement. Outside the home she worked for several years at J&B Hallmark and Elder-Beerman. She was a long time member of the Greater Dayton UK Alumni Club and a lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan. The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday August 11th at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home 119 E. Main St. Fairborn. A celebration of life will follow at 4 pm, the Reverend Karen Cassedy presiding. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society of Greater Dayton or The Fairborn Music Club in Doris’ memory.
