Born in Taunton, a daughter of Maria (Meunier) Ventura and the late Joseph Ventura, she was a life-long resident of the area.
A graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1961, she later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Bridgewater State College. Mrs. Norton was a school teacher in Freetown, Fall River and Sudbury Elementary Schools for many years, retiring in 2001.
An avid reader, she loved reading just about everything and especially to her grandchildren. A New England sports team enthusiast, she especially loved the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by: one daughter, Kerry Gray of Taunton and her former husband Bill Gray of Lakeville; one son, Michael Norton and his wife Roxanne Reynolds of East Falmouth; four grandchildren, Jasmine Reynolds, Bill, Brennan and Owen Gray one brother, Steven Ventura; one niece and many nephews. She was the mother of the late Kristine Norton and sister of the late Joseph Ventura.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Church, Fall River.
