Eugene Borengasser of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed from this life on January 9, 2021, in his home from a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 29, 1945, to John and Nancy (Williams) Borengasser.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joan.
Eugene graduated from St. Anne’s Academy, attended Westark Jr. College and served two years in the United States Army. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 32 years.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia (Toth); two daughters, Johanna Paladino (Joe) and Lisa Belue (Richie); one son, Stephen Borengasser and goddaughter, Renee Rotert (Brad); 11 grandchildren, Taylor and husband Ryan, Addison, Savannah, Hannah, Isaiah, Micah, Lydiah, Foster, Elsa, Jackson and Bryson; two great grandchildren, Hazel and Reid; three sisters, Nancy, Ginny and Judy; three brothers, John, Jim and Greg.
After Eugene’s retirement, he spent most of his time woodworking in his Man Cave. He enjoyed making items for the Immaculate Conception Ladies Auxiliary Bazaar. He was even made an honorary member of the auxiliary for all that he did for them.
Rosary will be 9:30 AM, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 10 AM. Burial with full military honors will be 11 AM, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Fort Smith National Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Edwards Funeral Home.
