Time goes by faster than we really realize.
Still even today when I go by Woody`s house I still catch myself looking at it and thinking  about him and the times I would stop and talk to him when he would be sitting outside.
We all really miss that great guy!

I met big Woody when I was 10 years old. Him and my mother were dating at the time Sharon story known as Sam they dated for many years. The time they spent together they bared a child Woody Jr my little brother.Big Woody was no longer Big Woody  he was Dad. The kindest,gentlest man loving, caring Man that I had ever met. Andover he definitely had the other side to him too if you know what he you know not to misbehave around him are you're going to get it. I only ever got one spanking from him and I will never forget it. LOL dad you will be dearly missed I Will Always Love You and miss you I will never stop thinking about you and until we meet again. I met and have known Woody since the early  1980's . My heart will always hold fond and precious memories of him , from the rides we shared to just hangin out at Gradys Place and Hook n Ladder. Thanks for being a such a fun companion .Until we met again RIP my friend Woody

I met Woody when I was 11 or 12. I grew up in Waynedale and Woody and Jim were part of Waynedale. They were older than me but we were friends. Woody was a big gentle guy. The last time I saw Woody was in the early 70's. He came in the truck stop and my back was to him and he picked me way up in the air. I was so surprised and happy to see him. Rest in peace Woody and thanks for being a good memory of my childhood. Prayers and hugs to Woody's family.

Rest easy jesus in a leather jacket. That is what we called you when we was kids. As we seen you walked into the Legion, with your long beard and leather jacket , you was forever named by us as jesus in a leather jacket. We always believed you to be the protector of everyone who lived in waynedale. To me and my family he was a great guy, would do anything for anyone. My kids never met him but they have always heard the stories of our hero. RiP 

I met Woody over 50 years ago. I worked with his mom, Dorothy. I’ve never met a kinder, sweeter person.   The Lord has taken a true angel.  Thanks, Woody, for being a friend. 

What a great man....  My father(Jesse Cummins) told me once he was out side the hook & ladder and he pulled on woodys beard.  I guess that was a no no!   Nothing happened! Becaused they  were good friends.

I have known Woody it seems my whole life and would always honk at him if he was sitting outside  as I drove by.
Once in a while I would stop to chat a few minutes. What a great guy! That habit will be hard to break. 
Waynedale will never be the same without him. 
To his whole family, I am so sorry for your loss.
I used to see Jim at Azars often after work and drink coffee and  talk with him. And I was in grade school with Nancy. 
May God give you all comfort and strength!

Thinking of my cousin Woody today. When we were kids my Grandma Edmondson would take us to his mom's house. She was my great aunt and my grandma's sister. I always have those memories out on her trees swinging on the rope swings with my cousin Woody and his brother Big Jim. They were both big burly guys with even bigger hearts! Woody was so good with my sister and I. I always asked my Grandma whenever they would take us to see Aunt Hope if Woody and Big Jim would be there. That's where I got my only motorcycle ride. Woody loved kids and he would play with us for hours he was probably the first person I ever played hide and go seek with. Just because most of the people that were in my life back then have moved on and some have passed on, doesn't mean that I will ever forget all the love and memories that we shared. Rest in peace, Big Woody! I'll never forget how gentle and kind you were. See you later, Alligator. After while, Crocodile.

I sincerely regret not being able to attend the services for Woody.
However, my absence does not in any way diminish my sorrow and
this opportunity to extend my sympathies to all those who share this loss. 
I  have and will treat and experience this loss in the exact same manner as any loving family member would regardless of their whereabouts.

I have so many memories of you that I could share with everyone, but that would take a lot of pages.  You were always a part of our family and loved by so many and will be missed. Fly high bro, love always Peggy Sue.

I didn't know Woody well but I have a great story my Mom told me. 
They went to high school together. Woody went over to her house and knocked on the door to ask my Mom on a date.
Her Dad answered the door. Woody asked "Is Gale home?"
My grandpa looked him up and down and said "I don't believe she is." 😂
Rest in heaven Woody. Waynedale lost a true gem.

One of  memories of Woody. Was 46 years ago when I was 16 and going to the Hook & Ladder and sneaking in with my ex Steve Zent. It was on a New Year’s Eve , we sat by the door as Woody was the bouncer.. He had on a blue 2 piece suit looking so handsome.  I told him i’d Probably never see this again , so I took his picture. I had it blowed up to a 8x10 ,  he gave me a big grin when I showed him.  Waynedale will not be the same without you.  You were loved by all and we all got a Bear hug from you you every time we met. RIP my friend you will never be forgotten..

I remember the good times at Mike & Laraina's house.  You would throw the kiddo's in their pool.  My daughter Carla hung on to your beard for dear life but you managed to get her into their pool.  You have been a part of Waynedale for a long time.  Sorry to hear of your passing.  You will be missed.   Sympathy to your family.

Sorry for your loss and I remember riding with him at the blessing of the bikes in the Ft Wayne area. It was a great to meet him and talk.

Grandpa Woody , you always made all family get togethers brighter . You may have been a “bear” but you were a wonderful & sweet guy . I wish we could have been a little closer , but I know your with me & the family . I love you . 

I have know Woody all my life and have enjoyed times and rides together a beer or two. The good Lord has a great fellow in him He well be miss see you on the other side Mister Waynedale mayor.


Woody, I treasure the 45 years I knew you.  You needed to be a "bear" to hold your wonderful, soft heart.  RIP my friend.
