Joann Maynor

Joann Mudd Maynor, 78 , of Fredericksburg, VA, was called home on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life Benjamin F. (Jack) Maynor, Jr., her beloved son Victor Karl Maynor, her parents Thomas and Sally Mudd, a brother Elmer Mudd, and a sister Margaret Waddell. She is survived by her daughter and best friend Jackie Lynn Bennett (Steve); two grandsons Steven Jr and Robert Bennett; one sister Edith McWhirt and a large host of other family and friends.

Joann enjoyed moving and always made life long friends where ever she would go. She lived in Arlington, Alexandria, Herndon, South Boston, Madison Run, Gold Dale, Spotsylvania and most recently in Fredericksburg.. She was known for her kindness, beautiful smile and her hugs. She loved to travel and if anyone said let's go, she was ready.

She was a long time member of Salem Methodist Church in Rhoadesville, VA. She loved church and was involved in the United Methodist Women's group. She loved doing crafts and sewing and yard sales

Her grandsons were such a huge part of her life. Se enjoyed everything about them from going on trips, to endless ball games. She was always there for them even as adults. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19,2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with a Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 in the Chapel at the funeral home. A burial will follow at Fairfax memorial Park in Fairfax, VA.
