Clarabelle was a lifelong resident of Fresno county, born in Raisin City and then lived on the corner of Elm and Manning until her marriage to her one and only, Robert J. Schutz. She loved swimming, ice skating and horseback riding as a child and never lost her passion for "Play". She graduated from WUHS in 1948. Her best friend growing up was Barbara Hammond. She married Bob in 1950 and they were happily married for over 40 years until his death in 1991. She is survived by their 3 children, daughters, Linda Matsumoto and husband, Doug, Jennifer Bollum and husband Tom, and son, Monte Schutz, and wife, Kim; 7 grandchildren, Kristen Elardo, Christopher Ventura, Shaun Matsumoto, Brian Bollum, Bradley Matsumoto, Justin Schutz, and Robby Schutz, and 10 great- grandchildren, Jordan Elardo, Taylor Elardo, Morgan Elardo, MacKenzie Elardo, Livia Ventura, Maddox Ventura, Brennan Matsumoto, Emma Matsumoto, Lila Matsumoto, Brayden Matsumoto plus 2 great- grandchildren due in June. She is also Survived by 2 sisters, Eva Poytress and Helen Mayes. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, and brothers, Charles and Bud Hamilton.
She loved playing and watching all sports. She played tennis once or twice a week up until the age of 86. Clarabelle was a lifelong devoted member of Easton Presbyterian Church, where she was a deacon, member of the choir, served in many ministries including the clothes closet and Eva's Kitchen Crew. She taught vacation Bible school for many years and even survived the antics of Mark Lanford and Tom Pallas. She was a member of Sweet Adelines for over 35 years, and later was involved in several other singing groups. She was a member of "New Wrinkles", a variety show (55 years of age and older) for many years. She took up clogging at age 78 and continued for 8 more years. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Clarabelle ‘s life was definitely a Life Well Lived!
