Angelina Perez Medina was born November 28, 1933 in Maysfield, Texas, the daughter of Julian Perez and Estanislada “Tanis” Sauseda Perez. Angie was a generous, humorous, and stubborn soul who was loved by many. She was known by numerous names: Mom, Momma Alligator, Hella, Kello, Tia, and most affectionately, Grandma Angie.
On June 25, 1949 she married Rodolfo Medina at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan. Together they shared nine children. Angie lived life to the fullest and enjoyed simple pleasures. She loved praying, watching novellas, making tamales, and sitting on the porch with family and friends. Mostly, she enjoyed spending every opportunity with her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering faith kept her strong through the loss of five children.
Angie led by example, always keeping a positive attitude and spreading cheer by reminding us to relish small pleasures, practice gratitude, focus on the good, live in the present, laugh, limit complaints, and show love and appreciation for others. She shared her wisdom and reminded us that although life can be tough and painful at times, our family support and faith can keep us strong. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; siblings Mayo Ostiguin and Julian Perez; children Bobbie Medina, Ricky Medina, Evangelina Medina, Alfred Medina, and Vera Medina, and granddaughter Michelle Annette Medina.
Survivors include her sons, Rudy Medina Jr. and wife, Gloria of Bryan; Roy Medina and Ruben Medina of Georgetown; daughter, Alice Mendez of Georgetown; brother, Adam Perez and wife, Beatrice of Bryan; grandchildren, Ann Medina, Debbie Lynn Medina, Jason Medina, Denise Mendez, Kevin Mendez, Kelli Mendez, Luis Hernandez, Julian Hernandez, Rudy Medina III, JoAnn Espino, Joe Espino, Lisa Medina Riley, Jennifer Medina, Laura Medina, Christi Mendez, Jackie Sifuentes, and Celeste Medina; and 48 great-grandchildren.
