Charles Edmond Whitlatch

passed away on Jan 5, 2020. Ed was born in Phoenix Arizona

on September 16, 1935 to Robert Morrow Whitlatch and Annie Laura

Coffman.

Ed was a longtime Phoenix resident who worked for the Arizona Republic

newspaper for over 45 years. Ed loved to travel throughout Arizona.

He took advantage of many opportunities to enjoy the Arizona country while

it was still sparsely populated and somewhat pristine. He knew many details

of the growth and evolution of the City of Phoenix and the State of Arizona.

Ed is survived by his wife, Arlene R. Whitlatch, to whom he was married

65 years. Ed's brother Robert J. Whitlatch preceded him in death.

Ed is survived by his two sisters, Marjorie A. Page and Laura L.

Irrgang and is survived by his three sons,

Charles D. Whitlatch, Steven M. Whitlatch, Rodney L. Whitlatch, five

grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix AZ on

January 20, 2020 at 11:00.
