She was born on March 29, 1921 in Sullivan, Ohio. She moved to Orlando with her
family in 1967. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Giesel, her parents, Harry
and Ada Freyman, and her sisters, Mabel Immel and Bernice Devey. She is survived by her
three children, David Giesel (Cree) of Chattanooga, TN, Paul Giesel, of Orlando, and Sharon
McFarland (David) of Orlando; her grandchildren, Megan Ferguson (Zach), Jeremy Giesel
(Brittney), Mark Giesel (Sarah), all of Chattanooga, Michelle Sternfield (Jay) of Orlando, and
Kristen Sherwood (Michael), of Gainsville; Great-grandchildren Christian, Alexis and Georgia
Woodfin, of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews and a sister-in law, Phyliss Giesel of
Elyria, Ohio.
Grandma Giesel loved the Lord, her church, her family, food and fellowship. She spent
countless hours teaching Sunday School, visiting the sick, and playing the piano for her church,
the Orlando Baptist Temple, where she was a member for 50 years.
Mrs Giesel was a former employee at Hughes Supply and a retired teacher from the Orlando
Baptist Temple school.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 10th, 10:00 AM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Old
Winter Garden Road, with funeral service to follow at 11:00. Pastor Xavier Small is officiating.
