Richard Alan McGee

Richard Alan McGee, of Arkoma, Oklahoma, left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on April 3, 2016. He joined his sisters, Polly Jarrard and Carolyn Woodard, brothers, Randy and William and parents, Bill and Ora Mae McGee. He was born June 28, 1944 in Fort Smith.

Richard was retired from the Fort Smith Fire Department, where he served for 32 years. Richard was a member and deacon of Phoenix Village Baptist Church then later moved to Haven Heights Baptist Church with his wife, Nancy. He was also a 32-degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of the home, one daughter, Tammy Chase of Fort Smith, three stepdaughters, Pamela Pongratz of Midwest City, Tami Cole of Lavaca, and Kandi Jeffcoat of Rogers, ten grandchildren, Garrett and Preston Chase, Quentin and Nancy Pongratz, Samuel and Anna Jeffcoat, Tyler and Jessica Cole, Asheligh Hattaway, and Aeriel Hutchinson, two great grandchildren, Rileigh Hattaway and Emma Hayward, one brother, Kenneth McGee of Van Buren, and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. Richard was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 7 at McConnell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bost Human Development, PO Box 11495, Fort Smith 72917
