Mary DeWaele

Mary was a loving and devoted mother to Eric (Andrea), Cameron (Rebecca) and Scott (Aimee) and her many grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Dean, Michael, Hayley, Alyssa, Ariel, Isabella and Collin. She was also survived by her sister, Jill, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Mary was predeceased by her brother Ron; sister Nancy and nephew Michael. Any tribute to Mary would not be complete without mentioning all of the animals she loved and that loved her. She always arrived to visits with treats in her pockets for her extended furry family.

Mary was a caregiver. She gave to others through her time, her thoughtfulness and her wonderful cooking skills. She worked as a cook at Harvard Grill for many years and made lifelong friends with her co-workers and customers. She loved visiting with her many friends over coffee.

A memorial visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan 48236, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM.
