Solomon Reuben Belle

11 May, 19874 October, 2021

May 11, 1987 – October 4, 2021

On Monday, October 4, 2021, Solomon Reuben Belle, caring and loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away with his loving wife, Janay, by his side.

Solomon was born on Monday, May 11, 1987, to Carolyn and Shawn Belle in Chicago, Illinois. Solomon’s family later moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin where he was raised and lived through his late 20’s.

Solomon was a devoted husband and father whose unequivocal love for his family did not go unnoticed. He married his best friend on May 26, 2017. His family were his whole heart and soul. Aside from his passion for being the best family man possible, Solomon was a great friend to many.

Solomon was an amazing storyteller which propelled his love of writing. He was working towards his bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University and was part of the National Society for Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi). He loved movies, especially quoting his favorites. Because of his love of movies Solomon aspired to be a screenwriter. Solomon was also a huge music fan, the only times he wasn’t listening to music was when he was watching a movie or, when the Bears were playing.

Loved ones would describe him as funny, warm, and with the largest heart. One thing he enjoyed doing for his loved ones was cooking. Solomon had the best sense of humor and was well known for his sarcastic jokes and quick comebacks. He had the greatest gift of lighting up a room by making others laugh.

He is preceded by his mother Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Janay, his step-son, Ryker, his brothers, Shawn Jr and Shallun, and his father, Shawn Sr. Along with his nieces and nephews; Daveion, Shawn III, Amari, Aniah, Stefano, and Arolyn, who he loved spending time with. Solomon could put a smile on anyones face and was well-loved. He is missed intensely by numerous friends and family and countless community members and classmates.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Belle family.

You are just so amazing, and so very loved. I’ve always told you I could never fully put into words what you mean to me, and even now I’m just at such a loss of what to say. It hurts so bad that you couldn’t be here to love me my whole life. But, I am so very lucky that I got to love you for yours.
When people ask me something that I’m really proud of in this life, being Solomon’s wife will be at the top of that list. I’m sure I loved you, from that day in June when we first laid eyes on each other. And I will love you to whatever is beyond time. So, until we get to do this thing called life again together I’ll miss you.

Love always,

Your pretty lady

My dearest friend, more like family. Solomon, you will definitely be missed!!! I remember it as if it was just yesterday, we met 15years ago. Always quiet and chilled but funny as ever. Me and your niece A'Mari will hold our memories of you close to heart and you will forever be apart of our hearts. Love you until we meet again. ❤

I remember Solomon from my childhood. We went to the same elementary school. Harvey Elementary School in Kenosha, WI. We were childhood friends and went to each other’s birthday parties. We ended up going to different schools after and it wasn’t until many years later into adulthood that we reconnected through social media. We communicated through shared messages back and forth and would comment on each other’s posts. I really enjoyed my interactions with Solomon through social media. It was so great to reconnect with an old friend. He would always bring a smile to my face as we shared the same sense of humor about hip-hop, life, and we would reminisce about the past and growing up. Our favorite memory we would often recall was when I went to his birthday party and we made his dad play “This Is How We Do It” by Montel Jordan at least 17 times consecutively.

It’s funny because I only knew Solomon for those 5 brief years when we were children. A time where as you get older the memories fade fast and can become tough to recollect. Solomon and I didn’t go to middle school together and we didn’t attend the same high school, but I am able to remember of Solomon as one of my good friends. He was quiet and “low-key” but unbelievably kind and had a genuine soul with a big heart. He was my friend.

When I heard Solomon had past I was shocked. I cried when I heard the news and I cry as I write this memorial. My heart goes out to his wife and family.

I only knew Solomon for a short time but the kind of person he was has stuck with me all these years and I will remember him as such for the rest of my life- genuine, kind, authentic.

I will miss you my friend.

I wasn't ready for you to go
God came down & said " it's time to go"
I said God please give us one more day
God turned and said you could not stay
You looked at me and said " don't cry"
"I'll see you again on the other side"
So until that day just always know
"I LOVE YOU nephew"
more than you'll ever know
Love you. Aunt Veronica
