Thomas "Tom" R. Sweeney

Thomas "Tom" R. Sweeney, 61 of Pembroke and formerly of Hanover, Lebanon, NH, and Miami, FL, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 after a brief illness. Tom is predeceased by his mother Anna (Caruso) Sweeney, his father James Sweeney, and siblings James Sweeney and Pauline Johnston. 

Tom is survived by his siblings Ann (Mark) Fafel, Kathleen (Jay) Smith, Patricia (Thomas) Nichols, Michael Sweeney, and Daniel (Tracie) Sweeney. Tom leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his longtime friend, Cheryl Santos.

Tom loved to travel, he backpacked all through Europe when he was younger. He also brought some of his nieces and nephews to Paris and London throughout the years. In addition to traveling to Europe, Tom's travels brought him to Aruba, Canada, Budapest, and Brazil.

Tom had his Masters in Education, with a certificate in massage therapy. He loved teaching massage therapy, his students, and giving massages. Tom was also a camp counselor at Agassiz Village in Poland, ME.

Tom had a very big heart and was very humble. He enjoyed volunteering, which included massaging runners at the Boston Marathon and Pan Mass Challenge. 

Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Private services will be held for the immediate family only.
