

Albert “Scott” Catherwood, 90, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA, went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2014. Born in Motherwell, Scotland in 1923, he immigrated with his parents, the late Edward and Esther Catherwood, to the US in 1925. He lived in Philadelphia and graduated from Northeast High School, after which he trained as a tool and die maker. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, the late Margaret Catherwood.
Mr. Catherwood was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church in New Holland, and volunteered regularly at Garden Spot. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, fun Pop Pop and dear friend. He is survived by his son Edward (spouse Terri) of Norwich, VT, and his daughter Diane (spouse John Martz) of Arvada, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandsons.
There will be a private family celebration at a later date. Garden Spot Village will host a farewell gathering for Mr. Catherwood on August 20 at 11:45 am, Summerfielde Lobby. He will be interred at the Indian Gap National Cemetery.
